PM's speech on education for the new global age | Number10.gov.uk

PM's speech on education for the new global age | Number10.gov.uk
By Donna J. Jodhan

There is one country that has really taken the  bull by the horns when it comes to promoting universal home Internet access and this can only bring good things for this particular country.  I am talking about Grait Britain and referring to a somewhat recent speech that was made by their Prime Minister.  This speech really impressed me and for the following reason.  The British Prime Minister acknowledged that at the present time, Britain is running second in the fields of skills and education.

How many of our world leaders would have the nerve to admit such a thing but you have to hand it to the Brits!  They are never afraid to call it as they see it and if they are able to pull off their bold program of initiating universal home Internet access, then think about what the opportunities could be for the growth and prosperity of home based businesses.  This could mean a whole new world of opportunities for so many persons who in the normal scheme of things would probably not have the opportunity of fulfilling their dream to own their own business.  This program could open many doors for stay at home moms, housewives, retirees, seniors, and even our students and this is exactly what the Brits are hoping for.

This program would allow so many persons to take fuller advantage of the Internet and all of the possibilities that it can offer.  Many are openly applauding this initiative because it means that Britain is taking a big step towards building a strong small and home business economy and during these hard economic times governments have to become more creative and start thinking outside of the box as they would say.  For who knows!  This type of initiative may just be what the Brits need in order to kick start their sputtering economy.

I am going to leave you with a reference to check out below.

They understood that if Britain is second in education and skills we can never be first in business And that if we come second in business our young people will not have the opportunities and chances in life we wish for them ..... So from 2010 all secondary schools - and from 2012 all primary schools - will report online to parents, something that has been made possible because of our investment in universal home internet access for all families with children So the ...

Antivirus Internet Security Basics: How Viruses Get on a Computer ...

Antivirus Internet Security Basics: How Viruses Get on a Computer ...
By Donna J. Jodhan

When is the last time you asked yourself these questions:  How much do you really know about viruses?  How much do you really know about Internet security?  Would you really know how to protect yourself if you were suddenly attacked by a computer virus?  Do you know where these viruses live, how they find you, and what they can do to your system if they are not dealt with immediately?

I recently read where over 80% of computer users are still very much in the dark when it comes to being able to answer these questions in an informed manner and this is what hackers and cyber pirates continue to depend on in order to keep tormenting us.  Our inability to be aware of viruses, how to combat them, and how to avoid them.  They often say that ignorance is bliss but when it comes to viruses, this statement could not be further from the truth.  Ignorance and unawareness of the dangers of viruses is one of the worst attitudes for anyone to adopt.  Knowledge is the answer and the ability to avoid is the best weapon that anyone can use in this case.

An innocent action such as browsing a website can get an unsuspecting victim into harm's way.  Innocently downloading a harmless-looking piece of anti virus protection software could also be potentially just as harmful.  So, what should you be doing?  I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.

? Seniors find volunteer work after retirement a fresh beginning

        • Seniors find volunteer work after retirement a fresh beginning
By Donna J. Jodhan

For many seniors retirement could be viewed as a mixed bag.  For some, they spend their time catching up on things that they never had time to do while working.  Things such as traveling, taking courses, gardening, golfing, plus more; but for others the world of volunteering calls and many retired seniors are becoming more and more attracted to this world.  I guess that volunteering can be seen as filling several gaps in the lives of those who find themselves with a lot of time on their hands.

Volunteering can be viewed as filling a need to help others.  It can also be viewed as being able to fill a gap of continuing to either use or build skills.  It can also be viewed as having the ability to socialize and in this particular case many seniors are finding that socializing fills a gap in that whereas they were able to go out and meet others in the workplace before, now they are using volunteering opportunities to meet new people.  Whatever the reason, many are saying that volunteering by seniors can bring so many new facets both to our society and even to our economy.  Seniors who volunteer are not only helping themselves but they are definitely helping others as well.  They are inadvertently passing on their knowledge, skills, and experience.  They are bringing new meaning to the positive side of life and they are finding ways to bring creativity and gusto to all of us.

I am going to close by giving you a reference to check out.  One that shows you how someone is using their new role as a volunteer to enrich their life.

Groups for the disabled call for more technology innovations to make life easier

Good morning!  I'm Jeff N marquis at the business desk and on this very relaxing weekend, I have a very interesting article to share with you.  In this article, we will read about how various disabled groups are starting to have their voices heard when it comes to the fast moving world of technology.  They are speaking out about how technology is affecting their lives.  In short, they are calling for more technology to help them with challenges in their daily lives.
Please read the article below and send your considered comments to me at info@sterlingcreations.com.
Have a great weekend.

Groups for the disabled call for more technology innovations to make life
easier (Disabled

By Lisa Arrowsmith
THE CANADIAN PRESS, May 31, 2009

EDMONTON _ Thirty years ago, groups for the disabled in Canada fought for
accessible sidewalks, washrooms and transportation.

Today their battleground is equal access to technologies such as cellphones,
hand-held devices, entertainment systems and even home appliances.

``The new technology can actually be either the great liberator for people
with disabilities ... or it can begin to create a whole new set of barriers
that
we haven't had to deal with before,'' said Laurie Beachell, national
co-ordinator for the Council of Canadians with Disabilities.

John Rae, 60, of Toronto suffers from retinitis pigmentosa, a progressive
eye disease that caused him to lose much of his sight when he was in his
20s.

Since Air Canada modernized its in-flight entertainment system, which now
uses touch screens, the retired Ontario government employee finds himself
with
nothing to do but sleep on long flights.

``You used to be able to navigate the entertainment system in an airplane by
buttons on the side of your seat ... but with these flat screen
entertainment
systems, I no longer can. My independence has been taken away from me,''
said Rae, who volunteers with the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians.

On Rae's computer, the screen technology that reads documents aloud doesn't
recognize some formats that are commonly used when transmitting text, so he
simply can't access the information.

``I consider it discrimination,'' Rae said.

``Manufacturers of technology, manufacturers of household appliances
continue to develop and manufacture equipment and technology that we can't
use.''

Groups such as the non-profit Neil Squire Society, hope to change all that.
The society, which focuses on using technology to ``empower'' the disabled,
is pressing Canadian regulators to force companies to make products more
user-friendly for the disabled.

Last fall, hearings were held with the Canadian Radio-television and
Telecommunications Commission where groups representing the disabled argued
for better
access to things such as cellphones.

``Basically (we) were trying to make the case that cellphone companies don't
do a really good job of ensuring that there are products for people with
disabilities
that meet their needs,'' said Harry Lew, the society's manager of research
and development.

People with physical mobility problems, who may have spasms or can't use
their hands, can't use many services on hand-held devices, he said.

``So you can't access email if you're a person with a mobility impairment
right now. You can't surf the web on a handset because there just aren't any
solutions.''

``That's the classic case where people with disabilities are lagging
behind.''

Jim Johannsson, a spokesman for Telus, said the company is making efforts to
help people with disabilities.

He said Telus, which participated in the CRTC hearings last November, has
enhanced its directory assistance capabilities by using more voice
recognition
technology. There is also a service that will convert emails from text into
audio for those with impaired vision.

Telus has an application before the CRTC for approval of a video relay
service for its deaf customers, so that one or both people on either end of
the connection
can use sign language.

But these systems require national standards and CRTC approval, Johannsson
said, to ensure the same level of service across the country.

``We know that with technology you can allow people with certain
disabilities to be incredibly productive and wherever possible we're making
those investments,''
he said.

The challenge is determining whether governments, companies or individuals
should have to pay for such services, Johannsson said.

Ontario is believed to be the only province to have passed legislation that
aims to improve access to goods and services for the disabled, including
information
and technology.

Each year in Canada it is estimated that people with disabilities spend
about $25 billion on goods and services.

Bill Adair, executive director of the Ontario branch of the Canadian
Paraplegic Association, said while technological innovations are important,
removing
prejudice against the disabled is still at the heart of the issue.

``If you fix (information technology) and you still leave the whole concept
of prejudicial attitudes towards people with disabilities intact, you really
haven't done a whole lot.''

PRIVATE AL QUR'AN: Fwd: Business Opportunities Weblog

PRIVATE AL QUR'AN: Fwd: Business Opportunities Weblog
By Donna J. Jodhan

Search and research; two very important things for any small business to keep in mind.  Two very important things that if ignored can easily be the reasons or the differences between failure and success.  Do your research well and you can help yourself to avoid so many common pitfalls.  Do your searches better and you can keep an eye on your friends and enemies alike.  Those who are competing and collaborating with you in your field of business.

When using the research technique, be sure to spend time researching specific things that are related to your business or the type of business that you are in.  Use your business name or brand as often as you can so that it becomes a household name to those searching for products and services that you offer.  Use the search technique as a double edged sword as follows:
1 to make sure that your name or brand is coming up when you search for it.
2. to seek out your competitors.  Nothing can be worse than not to know who your competitors are.

So there you have it.  Research and search and I am going to leave you with a wonderful reference to check out.  Please see below.

Text Message Banking | Best Tech News, Reviews, How it Works, Tips

Text Message Banking | Best Tech News, Reviews, How it Works, Tips
By Donna J. Jodhan

I can bet my last dollar that when the term online banking is mentioned, there are many reactions for us to see.  For those who did not grow up in the era of the Internet, online banking often evokes reactions of frustration, terror, fear, and the desire to take the computer by its hinges and dash it on the floor.  For those who grew up in the era of the Internet, online banking often receives a much warmer welcome.  Reactions such as:  Convenience, flexibility, a time saver, the ability to carry out banking tasks either while at the office or at home.  Can do it any time of the day so long as the Internet is up and running and they can connect to it.

Most of those who did not grow up with the Internet would probably tell you that they would rather deal with a live teller.  That they do not trust the Internet to provide them with total security protection from hackers and scammers.  On the other hand, those that did grow up with Internet technology would probably tell you that online banking is the best thing that could have happened along.  There are pros and cons to both sides of this argument but I am afraid that online banking is here to stay so we might as well get used to it.  Online banking is not exactly full proof but financial institutions are working overtime to make it so.  Whether or not they can succeed will depend on the ability of online banking developers to make their systems more secure along with the scammer'sand hacker's ability to hack in.
I am going to leave you with an excellent reference to check out.  Please see below.

Crisis in long-term health: Boomers caring for elderly parents ...

Crisis in long-term health: Boomers caring for elderly parents ...
By Donna J. Jodhan

There is a very real and acute problem developing in our health system and we need to address it today rather than tomorrow.  The problem or concern as I should be calling it is this:  How do we protect the health of those many aging boomers who are taking care of their parents?  The boomer generation or the sandwich generation as they are often referred to, has been forced to get involved with taking care of their elderly parents and in addition, they are also being asked to take care of their own kids all at the same time.

What is going to happen to this generation?  For how long will they be able to keep up with multi tasking?  Will the system be able to provide for them and take care of their own needs?  Will the system be able to provide the boomer generation with ample mental and physical care?  What would happen if the boomer generation does not get the support that they need in order to continue multi tasking?  And, if they are unable to do this then how are tomorrow's kids going to survive?  A very scary situation if I may venture to say so and one that can quickly turn into a great explosion and could also easily assume tsunami proportions.

In addition to health matters, the sandwich generation is also being weighed down with taking care of financial matters on behalf of both their parents and their kids.  There are so many issues for this particular generation to focus on and all at the same time.  How much can they really cope with before starting to crack?
It is hoped that governments around the world are closely monitoring this situation and that they are making concrete plans to step up to the plate and show leadership.  The private sector may not be able to shoulder this on their own.  This has to be a joint effort by all stakeholders.  I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.  One that nicely supports my concerns.

Assistive Technology and the Mobile Student Body

Good morning!  I'm Jeff N Marquis at the business desk and this weekend I'd like to start a new feature.  One that focuses on the problem that those using assistive technology faces in the world of rapidly evolving technology.  This article is very insightful and interesting and it makes very good reading.
I'm Jeff N. Marquis wishing you a great day and weekend.

Assistive Technology and the Mobile Student Body

By Ofer Chermesh

Laptop penetration and wireless connectivity, two major technological
phenomena of this past decade, could have dramatically affected the
penetration and adoption of assistive technology in educational institutes.
However, the conservative policies of software-based assistive technology
vendors have prevented this promise from being fulfilled.

Laptops have penetrated educational institutions; there is no question about
that. Laptop mobility is very important to students as they can easily carry
their computers around. Some educational institutes encourage their students
to purchase laptops by offering subsidized prices or easy payment terms.
Other colleges and universities have gone as far as to mandate laptop
ownership for all their students.

Wi-Fi technology enables wireless internet access to any computer/laptop
found in the range of the wireless network. It has become quite prevalent in
educational institutes. A September 2008 study, sponsored by the Wi-Fi
alliance, revealed the following facts:

. 90% of college students said that Wi-Fi access is essential to education
. 57% said that without Wi-Fi access, school would be a lot harder for them
. 60% said that a Wi-Fi network on campus indicates that a school cares
about its students

Many educational institutes offer their students software-based assistive
technology products. In many cases the institute reviews a set of such
products, and under the constraints of a limited budget, purchases a limited
number of licenses to be installed at the institute's assistive technology
computer center. In the days of the desktop technology, such an offer was
deemed effective, even forthcoming, but in the context of a mobile student
body, where many students own laptops and the educational institute is
connected in a wireless network, this fixed server model is a grand miss.
This model blocks assistive technology penetration instead of promoting it.

Several technical, licensing and commercial issues need to be resolved in
the learning assistive technology products to enable the mobile student body
to enjoy the benefits of a mobile study environment.

From a technical perspective online connectivity may dramatically reduce the
maintenance of an assistive software package. If online download is enabled,
then the IT Manager is not required to install the software package to each
student requesting the software. The student himself can easily connect to
the site of the Assistive Technology vendor, download the software, and
install it. If an automatic upgrade option is supported, then whenever there
is
a new software upgrade, the system automatically installs the latest
versions to online users. Automatic installations and upgrades is the only
effective way to manage widespread software installations.

From a commercial, licensing perspective, innovative licensing algorithms
need to be developed to adjust to this mobile world. There are currently
three leading software licenses models being offered today by software
assistive technology vendors:

. Fixed license model: The educational institute buys N fixed licenses. At
every single point of time, there can be only N installed computers.  .
Concurrent license model: The educational institute buys M concurrent
licenses. These licenses can be installed on as many computers as wanted,
but at a single point of time only M users can use this software package
. Site license: The educational institute pays for the (estimated) average
overall usage of the software. Alternatively, there may be a fixed site
license price. The fixed price usually reflects the maximum amount of
dollars that the software vendor believes it can receive from the institute.

All of these licensing models are attuned to well controlled environments,
where the number of computers is well known. However, they are incompatible
with a mobile student body environment. In such a mobile world, the basic
building blocks must change. Assistive technologies must become
network aware, servicing all students on the educational institute's
network. Vendors may offer their assistive technology services for free
within the school grounds. This may serve both social awareness feelings and
commercial interests. IT departments of educational institutes must be open
to accept these new networks and be aware of licensing models being driven
by new technological trends.

Assistive technology prevalence in an educational institute will attract new
students and directly improve the success of students requiring learning
assistive services. These students will be able to easily access learning
assistive technology services from anywhere, be it the classroom, cafeteria
or their campus room. They will easily gain confidence and independence as
their much needed assistive tools are available to them anytime and anywhere
within the school
grounds.

Crikey - Tucker: five broadband myths busted - Tucker: five ...
By Donna J. Jodhan

Like it or not:  Broadband technology is here to stay and we can look forward to a faster and more efficient way of doing things thanks to broadband technology.  Broadband technology has changed so many things for many of us.  Now for example, we have more mobility and flexibility to perform tasks.  The health, education, business and government sectors are benefitting greatly from broadband technology and everyone is being presented with greater opportunities to do more and multi task.

Some may say that broadband technology has been a God send to them but on the other hand there are many who may also be saying that broadband technology has been nothing but a disruption to their lives and why?  Because family members now have the ability to work from anywhere that allows broadband connections and this means more time spent at laptops and less time to be with the family.  For home businesses and small businesses, the evolution of broadband technology has been a huge advantage because these types of businesses are now free to perform a wider variety of tasks while at the same time doing business on the road.  I guess that one just can't please everybody.  I am going to leave you with a great reference to check out.  Please see below.

A New Type Of Proxy Script

A New Type Of Proxy Script
By Donna J. Jodhan

One of the most frequently asked questions is this one; what are proxy sites and what do they do?  To be very basic, here is a brief explanation and I am going to try and keep it short.  Choosing instead to provide you with a really good reference to check out.

Proxy sites are being used these days to help with online security protection.  They are also being used to get around those annoying firewalls both at school and in the workplace.  They are also being used to unblock those websites that are normally protected.  The functionality and flexibility of proxy servers have certainly come a long way in the past decade and more and more developers are continuing to write very powerful scripts for proxy servers.  To learn more about the power of proxy servers and proxy products, please check out my reference below.

Health News Online » Fitness This Year: What to Expect

Health News Online » Fitness This Year: What to Expect
BBy Donna J. Jodhan

There is no doubt that the demand for qualified fitness instructors is growing by leaps and bounds and who is driving this demand?  Why!  None other than aging baby boomers and seniors.  This group of persons has become more health and fitness conscious and don't look for this trend to change for the forseeable future.  With the accent being placed more and more on healthy living, seniors and aging baby boomers are certainly taking the lead in this area.

They are eating better, crowding more and more to the gyms, working out more, and even buying more fitness equipment for home use.  In addition, they are seeking the services of professional fitness instructors to help them stay in shape and what we can look forward to is a healthier senior population.  More healthy than a generation ago.  Personal training is becoming more affordable and readily accessible and more gyms and clubs are gearing their programs towards the needs of seniors, retirees, and aging baby boomers.

This augers very well for anyone who is thinking of becoming a fitness instructor.  Anyone who desires to work with older clients and anyone interested in the fitness industry.  As time marches on, these consumers are going to be demanding more services and equipment and it can only bode well for the fitness industry but more importantly for healthier seniors.  I am going to leave you with a wonderful reference to check out.

Myopic vs. Strategic Thinking

Good morning!  I'm Jeff N Marquis at the business desk and today I would like to share a very insightful article with you that comes from a very reliable source.
This article focuses on how we think and in turn how our thinking affects our decisions.  It's a great article and I urge you to read it before your next important decision.
I'm Jeff N Marquis wishing you a great weekend.

Myopic vs. Strategic Thinking

Before getting to the heart of today's article I'd like to first provide the following definition below:

"Myopic"
Unable or unwilling to act prudently; shortsighted.
Lacking tolerance or understanding; narrow-minded.
Lack of discernment or long-range perspective in thinking or planning.
The above definition aptly describes the policy of President Obama towards one of the greatest suppliers of oil to our country, Canada, as President Obama is leaning towards putting pressure on reducing emissions from Canadian oil sands production.

Obama Targets Emissions From Oil Sands

US President Barack Obama has signaled that Canada's oil sands industry should not be granted an exemption from strict regulations to limit emissions of greenhouse gases.

His stance could add to the already high costs of developing this vast resource which is increasingly regarded as one of North America's most secure sources of energy...

"What we know is that oil sands create a big carbon footprint," Obama said in a television interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Tuesday. "I think that it is possible for us to create a set of clean energy mechanisms that allow us to use things not just like oil sands, but also coal. The United States is the Saudi Arabia of coal, but we have our own homegrown problems in terms of dealing with a cheap energy source that creates a big carbon footprint."

Canada is the biggest foreign supplier of oil to the US, and in recent years a growing share of that oil has been derived from the oil sands region of northern Alberta which are estimated to hold a massive 173 billion barrels of oil.

About 780,000 barrels of oil per day are produced from the Alberta oil sands and exported to the US. Canada currently sells about 60% of its oil sands output to US refiners...

The recent steep fall in oil prices to current levels of around $40 a barrel have already had a big impact on plans to expand Canadian oil sands production.

Canadian bank TD Newcrest calculates that around 600,000 b/d of new output, originally scheduled to come on stream by 2010 or 2011, has been postponed.

The cost of oil production from tar sands is one of the most costly means of producing oil, that and deep water drilling. The collapse in oil prices is making production from the Canadian tar sands less economical, and slapping emissions controls and other regulation will only raise the cost for Canadian oil exporters to the U.S. The article mentions above that roughly 600,000 b/d of new production that was supposed to come on line over the next two years has been scrapped, and slapping regulation on Canadian oil producers will likely lead to even further cut backs in new production plans.

While the goal of reducing the carbon footprint is a noble venture, Obama's policies are likely to have unintended consequences. For example, who's to say that instead of spending billions to meet possible future regulations on oil sands production that Canadian oil exporters don't simply export their oil to China or other oil-starved countries?

When we eventually pull out of this economic mess we do not want to do so with a crippled oil industry. It will take years to bring new production on steam while demand can rebound much faster, leading to insufficient supply to meet reviving demand from emerging markets that will push oil prices up quickly. With oil production projects already being dropped left and right, one of the worst things we can do prior to an economic recovery is to alienate our top suppliers.

Canada is currently our number one supplier of crude oil, surpassing Mexico in late 2005 as Mexico's giant Cantarell oil field is in decline. Internal demand coming from the Middle East is eating into their export levels, which can be seen with declining exports from Saudi Arabia even before world economic growth collapsed in 2008. Furthermore, Hugo Chavez, no fan of the U.S., is diverting more of his exports to China. These trends can be seen in the figure below that shows exports from our top four oil exporters peaking between 2006-2007, and rising oil demand coming from oil export countries.

Source: Bloomberg

Source: CIBC World Markets

In stark contrast to the U.S. policy shift of alienating the top crude exports to our country, China is acting more like a vulture and opportunist by utilizing the economic crisis to its advantage with their sizable foreign exchange reserves, peaking off the weak to their advantage as the following articles illustrate.

Credit crunch plays into China's shopping plans

With the world suffering through a major credit crunch, China has suddenly gone shopping.
Beijing said Friday that one of its big state-owned banks, China Development Bank, agreed to lend Petrobras, the Brazilian oil giant, $10 billion in exchange for a long-term supply of oil.
That investment came after similar deals were signed this week with Russia and Venezuela, bringing China's total oil investments this month to $41 billion...

Venezuela got a $6 billion loan from China and agreed to increase its oil exports to the country, bringing China's total investment in the country to $12 billion. In Brazil, China signed a $10 billion "loan-for-oil" deal that guaranteed the country up to 160,000 barrels a day at market prices.

And in Beijing this week, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao met his Russian counterpart after China agreed to loan Russia's struggling oil giant, Rosneft, and Russia's oil pipeline company, Transneft, $25 billion in exchange for 15 million tons of crude oil a year for 20 years.

"This is heavy energy diplomacy," said Philip Andrews-Speed, director of the energy policy center at the University of Dundee in Scotland. "If you need money you go to where the money is, and today, China's the place."

China, Russia: A Pipeline Connection, an Act of Desperation?

China and Russia struck a deal that will give Russian energy firms Transneft and Rosneft loans to increase East Siberian oil field development and production and to connect the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline to China. In return, China will receive about 300,000 barrels per day of oil for the next 20 years. Russia might have made the deal out of economic desperation as its state-owned energy firms feel the pain of evaporating credit, economic woes and low oil prices...

And the Chinese got a steal: Although not all of the contract's subtleties are likely out in the open right now, reimbursement for the loan means that the Chinese have purchased Rosneft crude for only about $11.40 a barrel once interest is figured in — about one-third of what Russia's crude fetches on the open market right now. The Russians have essentially locked the fate of their Far East strategy to the whims of Chinese energy policy, and this is a compromise that could reveal how financially desperate Russia is.

Brilliant, purely brilliant! That is what strategic thinking is called! China, concerned about their U.S. reserves being devalued by U.S. monetary policy, is exchanging their holdings for long-term oil contracts from countries all over the world, locking in oil prices at exceptional levels, like the $11.40/barrel estimate for the Russian deal.

Over the past decade world oil production growth has been roughly stagnant for most oil producing regions, while Russia was one of the few bright spots this decade, though production growth stagnated in the last few years as capital expenditures in the region began to slow. Now with the recent deal inked by China and Russia, China has just secured direct oil access to one of the few oil regions that showed sizable production growth this decade. When world economic growth turns up, which it eventually will, China will have strategically positioned resources to allow their growth to continue, and has done so at rates 92% below last year's peak and current prices!

Probing the Depths of the Bottom

While China may be preparing for the eventual economic recovery, it certainly isn't here. Looking at the leading economic indicator for the OECD shows that the rate of change has nearly reached the levels of the 73/74 recession, currently declining at a 7.15% year-over-year (YOY) pace. While developed economies were the first to contract, the high-flying BRIC economies are quickly playing catch up as the chart of BRIC industrial production rates shows below.

Gryphon Financial's First To The Trade
SIX FEET UNDER YOUR ACCOUNT
Dear Friends,

I write to you today to inform you about a most astonishing opportunity. Presently, a limited collection of readers spurred by the legendary trading guru John Gage and his radical new Gryphon Financial's First To The Trade system are amassing a mind-boggling amount of profits at an equally astonishing rate of speed.

Point of fact, these readers have reeled in 26 successful plays out of 28 beginning in January of 2008. For you baseball enthusiast's, that's a .929 batting average. For the laymen, it's the equivalent of swinging at a beach ball with a tennis racquet... which at the end of the day brought in an accumulated total of 2,680% in gains.

The single play gains have tallied 155%, 175%, 190%, 267%, 387% and greater still. This is all the more extraordinary when you consider the markets have fallen some 20% in the midst of these gains, and it makes such astounding precision in picks all the more remarkable.
If you had been one of these fortuitous readers who had received these exceptional opportunities, and you simply placed just $5,000 down into each trade, you'd currently be perched atop $183,600.

Right about now you must be thinking this sounds too good to be true, but as I am about to explain... it's true alright, and here is one reason why...

The economic numbers above illustrate the degree of the economic contraction currently underway but do not tell us when the bottom may be in for crude oil. For this we turn to equities as the stock market serves as a useful discounting mechanism for economic data, and thus oil prices. Perhaps "THE" leading indicator for oil prices may be the Chinese stock market, as the Shanghai Index peaked nearly a year prior to the top in oil prices, and the recent break of the down trend that has been in place since 2007 in the Shanghai Index may be signaling a bottom for crude oil ahead. The 50 day moving average (MA) for the Shanghai index served as rally killers for the past year and has done so for oil prices as well. Coming off the October lows the Shanghai Index has staged an impressive rally, breaking above its 50d MA and now assaulting its 200d MA. A move above the 200d MA on the Shanghai Index would be a major positive for oil as it would signal that Chinese equities were discounting an economic bottom and recovery ahead.

Oil has yet to break through its 50d MA and that would be the first step for oil prices to turn more constructive, and the 200d MA is more than 100% above current prices, indicating we may see a prolonged period of consolidation before oil can move above its 200d MA.

Source: StockCharts.com

Also hinting at a potential recovery in oil prices is the MSCI Asian Ex-Japan Index, which typically leads oil prices by 210 days. The bottom in the index in October and stabilization may be signaling the same for oil ahead. If the Asian Ex-Japan Index can best its January highs it is likely that crude oil may follow suit and signal that the low is in. Corroborating the MSCI Asia Ex-Japan Index is the Korean Kospi Index, though it typically leads oil and the CRB Index by 168 days (24 weeks).

Source: Bloomberg

Source: Bloomberg

One final indicator that points to a final bottom in oil is my commodity currency index below that has failed to breach its October lows, and has typically lead oil prices by roughly a month. If the commodity currency index can breach its January highs then we can likely expect oil to break above its January highs of $48.59/barrel, which would also lead to a break above its 50d MA, providing further support that the bottom is in.

Source: Bloomberg

While the above indicators point to a potential bottom in crude oil, if a market rally in global equities stalls and then equities breach their prior lows, then all bets are off in terms of the final lows in oil prices. However, if equities continue to move to new highs and rise above their 200d moving averages, then the bottom is likely in for oil. If oil has indeed bottomed then I hope that President Obama not only supports alternative energy, but moves to secure our oil supplies or more and more will be directed towards China's shores. The U.S. is at a critical juncture in terms of our energy future as Mexican oil production is in decline, Venezuela directing exports to China, Saudi Arabian internal demand cannibalizing its exports, and Canada serving as one of the few promising suppliers to the U.S. If President Obama moves to implement greater regulation on Canadian oil sands, he will likely be shooting the U.S. economy in the foot, and we can expect higher oil prices than what is necessary.

As President Obama has made an about face in regards to statements made about China's unfair currency manipulation that could spark trade wars, let's hope his counselors can help him do the same with his plan of putting further regulation on Canadian oil sands exports, or we may lose the goodwill of our number one oil supplier.

The most profitable single trade of all time revealed for the
first time to the first 100 to subscribe!
FACT: 99% of investors do not have a clue how to trade the markets. They ride the crashing wave of buying the highs and selling the lows. Only the strong and truly savvy are able to will and manipulate their trades and continue to profit from Wall Street.

For the very first time, we're revealing a secret strategy to the first 100 subscribers. This bear market strategy is so powerful, government politicians have been trying to outlaw it for years!

This controversial and secretly held technique has made a small select few billionaires. One in particular is our head trader, and owner of Gryphon Hedge Fund - Kenneth Maseka, who in one day alone destroyed a particular company and packed more than $190 million inside a 24 hour stretch!

As we write this report, we should firmly say that this may be the only way to realize triple digit gains over the upcoming year. And for the first time in the history of the company, we are letting 100 investors into our secret and private group.

For over 100 years, this ruthless group has used this secret strategy to make BILLIONS. Over the last century, this private group of "THE TEN"... 10 traders working in unison since 1991, these quiet stock market masters have used this one simple technique to turn wounded weak stocks into BILLIONS.

But, remember of all God's creatures, the wolf has the greatest instinct to pray on the weak and will only let others in to their pack on the unanimous vote - you must be hand selected by "THE TEN" to even be considered for this private service. Typically reserved only to the qualified investor.

Home Based Business! - Internet Marketing Affiliate Program ...

Home Based Business! - Internet Marketing Affiliate Program ...
By Donna J. Jodhan

For those of you who are still sitting on the fence; the home based business Internet marketing affiliate program is very much alive and well.  This type of home business is still relatively new to us but it has really taken off in the last five years and has the potential to become a very viable and lucrative home based business.  As the Internet continues to stretch and grow, it is only logical to assume that it is going to pull the Internet marketing affiliate program along with it because more and more companies are going to use the affiliate program as part of their marketing arsenal to reach more consumers.  The Internet marketing affiliate program has turned out to be a very effective way for companies to reach more consumers and for affiliates to be able to make more money.

The trick of the trade is to choose the right type of Internet marketing affiliate program to become involved with and if you are leaning towards bbuilding a home based business in this arena, you need to do your homework very well before embarking.  An affiliate program that is reputable, one that pays well enough, and one that will pay you.  There are certain tricks that you will need to learn about before embarking on this type of business.  For example; choosing products that are related, products that are doing well, and being able to manage your program for yourself.  The magic word here is independence.  It's no good going into this type of business if you are unable to manage it for yourself.  You need to be technically savvy when it comes to managing a website to house your affiliate program.  You also need to learn how to interact between your affiliate master and your affiliates.

An Internet marketing affiliate program can easily turn out to be a lot of fun but at the same time, it can also quickly turn into a nightmare if you do not know what you're doing.  I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.

Surfing At Public find spots » Your Daily Computer Security Tips

Surfing At Public find  spots » Your Daily Computer Security Tips
 By Donna J. Jodhan

Surfing at public find spots may be a very convenient thing in the eyes of many but what many do not know or probably ignore is this:  The security factor.  Believe it or not, public find spots are not as secure as you are often lead to believe.  Your computers are often at risk at these locations.  Hackers often use these spots to locate and terrorize their victims and often times the visitor to the find spot is blisfully unaware of hackers lurking let alone when they have been cornered.  Hackers often use public find spots to target and conquer innocent persons.

So, how does one protect themself from this sort of thing when using a public find spot?  By ensuring that their security software is always up to date.  By ensuring that their computer is well protected by such things as:  Spyware, anti virus software, and software that can fend off hackers.  It is easy to say that one may never be able to totally protect themself from all of this but the most important thing is to be aware.  I am going to leave you with a reference to investigate.

The Boomers Set Their Sights on Panama!

The Boomers Set Their Sights on Panama!
By Donna J. Jodhan

One of the most popular places these days for seniors is believe it or not!  Panama!  Yes, Panama seems to have created a reason for many seniors to want to go there and live out the rest of their days.  Panama is a beautiful South American country where Spanish is the first language but English is also spoken and many Panamanians are flocking to perfect their English language skills.  The Panama government has introduced several incentives for seniors to want to go there and these include: Lower interest rates for mortgages, utility bills, and professional and technical services.

International living has ranked Panama as having the best retiree incentive program and one of the best for seniors to live.  What makes this even more powerful is that the Panama government has bought into it all so that it is a combined effort between government and private industry.

Panama and the United States have had a long history of relationship and many Americans have chosen Panama over the years as their vacation destination.  So it would not be surprising for all of this to be falling into place.  Panama is taking advantage of a real market with real demand and seniors from America are just loving it all.  I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.

MINIMUM RISK & UNLIMITED RETURN

Good morning!  I'm Jeff N marquis and today I have a really great article to share with you.  One that focuses the attention on how one can use minimum risk to obtain unlimited return.  Just a dream you may be asking?  Not so according to this article and I invite you to read on.
I wish you a great weekend and a happy July 4th birthday.

MINIMUM RISK & UNLIMITED RETURN

CEMENT, IT'S IN THE BAG!

Construction in China seemingly has no end. There are well over 100 metropolitan areas in China with a population well over 1 million. And these areas are growing fast!  They are consuming all the cement they can lay their hands on.

One area, called Chongqing (formerly Chungking), has a population in excess of 37 million. No typo!  That's about the population of California, and 30% larger than the population of Peru at 29 million. The population of Chongqing is growing (births plus immigration, minus deaths) at about 1,500 people per day. They need a place to live and that's just one illustration of why there's a construction boom in China.

Check this out: Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited ("Conch Cement"), China's largest cement producer has grown from producing 2 million tons of cement in 1996, to producing 65 million tons of cement in 2006.  This all by the means of mergers, acquisitions and scale expansions. They are the largest producers of cement in China for 10 consecutive years. But here's the kicker: they are the largest supplier of cement and clinker in ASIA, and the 4th largest globally. So you tell me, what's the down side???

GRYPHON'S PURE PROFIT WILL ONCE AGAIN OUT DUE ITSELF!  When was the last time you came across a business - any business - that churned out a 2100% profit margin in 3 years?

That's exactly what you get with this company and its wealth-producing cement and clinker.

MINIMUM RISK & UNLIMITED RETURN

At present, 60% of the global cement market is concentrated in the hands of the top 50 cement manufacturers worldwide. The Chinese mandated the elimination of 250 million tons of outdated cement production capacity by 2010. This industry consolidation will not only accelerate, but market shares and industry profiles will be concentrated to the strong companies, adding additional value created by acquisition opportunities because of the consolidation.

PURE PROFIT ESTIMATES China's cement industry concentration will be improved to 181% respectively just in 2008 alone!!!

A Tale of 3 cities???

Allow PURE PROFIT to illustrate the tremendous money-making power of the cement strategy. I think you'll like what I have to say.

An extremely large Swiss cement company HOLCIM recently raised its claim in the Chinese market. PURE PROFIT expects to raise its stakes to profit gains from 265% to 400% pretty much over night.

That's not all...

Anther cement giant with direct exposure to China and a listing on NYSE is Ireland's CRH. It's greener than the rolling hills and PURE PROFIT's information tells us that earlier this year CRH invested over $300 million for a 26% stake in JILIN YATAI GROUP, and if that's not enough they have an option to acquire an additional 23%. CHR stock has pounded lately!  It's currently trading at less than 6 times its earning, which makes it even cheaper than the industry giant CEMEX!

Who wants a cement company that has direct exposure to China? EVERY investor who executes the positions in PURE PROFIT, that's who!!!

When it comes to using cement, China dwarfs everyplace else on the planet. Here is a revealing graph from our friends at The Oil Drum:

Listen to what a few PURE PROFIT subscribers have to say:
"At 76 yrs. old you have to know how to be able to make the right investments. I have doubled my IRA account with PURE PROFIT. Thanks Gryphon."  Jessie Briggs Tyler, TX

"You have to see it to believe it! No one was more skeptical than me. With the worry of loosing my entire life savings at the age of 63, Pure Profit has shown me the way toward financial indepence."

Harold Rothstein, Florida NY

Heck of a graph, huh? Can you believe the comparison of China with everyplace else? The bottom line in all of this is that cement is a growth industry, maybe a growth industry on steroids?

PURE PROFIT investors know that being ideally positioned to capitalize on this earning growth is worth 70% Profit every year for the next 3 years - If You're Serious about Making Money...

So you probably noticed no one mentioned any special offers, no discounts. At just $799.00 per year or $1499.00 for two years - we won't sell it for a penny less. Serious investors know that $799 for just a taste of the profits you can earn as a PURE PROFIT subscriber is worth thousands.

In all fairness to you, please don't participate in PURE PROFIT if you're at all skeptical, and think this is just a shiny report. I urge you to move along if $799.00 isn't worth its weight in cement, this may not be for you!  Consider alternative newsletters.

THIS IS EXTENDED TO SERIOUS INVESTORS WHO ARE LOOKING TO MAKE A STEP TOWARD REAL WEALTH RIGHT NOW!!

I urge you to act fast! This offer will only be extended to the first 100 only!

Mom, Make Your Home-based Business Dream A Reality | Small ...

Mom, Make Your Home-based Business Dream A Reality | Small ...
By Donna J. Jodhan

For many moms, there is a common dream of being able to create their very own home business and why not?  A business that will allow them to become their very own boss, earn income, and have something to call their own.  About a decade ago this dream may just have been a dream and nothing more but since then the world of opportunities has opened up thanks to the evolution of the Internet.  However, there is something very tangent that stands between the dream and reality and it is finance.

Finance may always be the evel monster that will stand between dream and reality; the one that will always be threatening to turn things upside down.  However, there are ways for our business moms to deal with this.  Like the Internet in many ways, small loans have become more available to those persons wishing to start their own home business but in saying this let me caution that one has to be extremely careful when deciding which type of small loan to go after.  Moms with dreams of owning their own home business could easily be seen as easy targets for potential schemers and scammers and this group in particular has to be extra careful when researching and choosing the type of small loan that they wish to pursue.  Many moms are eager to start their own home business and many schemers and scammers know this only too well.

So, how does mom go about starting her very own home  business and at the same time stay away from schemers and scammers?  The answer is not as easy as black on white but I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.

Find Useful Advice About tech help | dv-depot.com

Find Useful Advice About tech help | dv-depot.com
By Donna J. Jodhan

How many of you are comfortable when it comes to dealing with those galloping trojan horses?  Do you know what a trojan horse is?  Do you know how to detect the presence of a trojan horse?  Do you just ignore it whenever you have been given a message by your system that a trojan horse has entered your computer system?  Or do you take your time in calling in help to clean it up?  Do you just ignore it and go on your merry way hoping that it will go away all on its own?

For many, the term trojan horse may not mean much but it is probably time for me to introduce you to it.  I am not sure where the term originated from, but anytime you hear the words "trojan horse" you should pay close attention.  If you are unfortunate enough to have one of these virtual beasts turn up in your computer system, then you had better deal with it immediately.  This virtual beast as I call it, is not your lovable handsome horse.  Rather, it is a piece of software that has been designed by someone to wreck your security software.  Once it has entered your system, it is not going to go away until it has been totally destroyed by the appropriate security software.  In order to destroy a trojan horse you really need to know what you're doing and if you're not sure then you need to seek professional help.

Here are just a few things for you to keep in mind when it comes to trojan horses.  They can totally destroy your security software and leave you vulnerable to viruses and hackers on the Internet.  They do not go away on their own.  You need to have them totally destroyed as soon as you discover them. They are harmful, not harmless.  I am going to leave you with a very reliable reference to check out.
