Important answers to consumers concerns

Top of the morning out there to you!  I'm Donna J Jodhan at the business desk.
Well, August has started out to be one of a mixed bag when it comes to our weather.  Hopefully it will settle down soon and we will be lucky enough to enjoy some warm days loaded with sunshine.
I would like to start off by thanking those of you who took the time to share your feedback with us and I again encourage you to keep those comments and questions coming because it is only with you that we can get stronger.  Our e-bag for this week is quite heavy and as always, I will do my utmost to answer as many questions as I can.
So, let me get to work!

Question from Nancy Hill:  I'd like to know how to go about launching an Internet business.  I am not sure how to go about it.  Can you give me some suggestions?
Answer:  Nancy, sure thing!  This is a very broad area and before you even think of launching an Internet business, there are other things for you to consider.  A roadmap as I call it.  If I may give you a few pointers to start with:
First, determine what type of business you are interested in launching.  Next, determine if there is a real demand for the business that you are considering and if there are real consumers.  Next, make sure that you develop a sound business plan.  One that is attainable on your part and that you have the appropriate financial resources to do what you desire.  I have provided a reference below for you to check out.  Hope it helps.

Question from Rick Canning:  How can you really deal with stress and depression?  Is it beatable?
Answer:  Rick,  I truly believe that stress and depression are beatable but in order to beat them you have to believe that you can beat them.  You also have to take the bulls by the horn and recognize the symptoms before it is too late.  Maybe my reference below will help to motivate and direct you to the appropriate sources for help.

Question from Patricia Halloweigh:  Donna, I am extremely concerned about the effect that the downturn in our economy is having on our mental health.  Should I be concerned?

Question from Ryan Weston:  What's this about us getting more depressed with a deteriorating economy?  How true is this?
Answer:  Ryan, It's what the experts are saying and I for one believe it.  I continue to read more and more about how our worsening economy is causing more and more stress among us.  In the workplace and at home and we really have to take this very seriously.  Absenteeism at the office is climbing more rapidly these days.  People are struggling to cope with the credit crunch and it is causing more stress in the home.  Employers are struggling to cope with all of this and the reference below backs up my opinion.  Please read it.

Question from Heather Shoemaker:  Donna, with the economic crisis upon us now, do you think that people will be thinking twice now before retiring?
Answer:  Heather, definitely so.  The economic down turn is making many pre-retirees think twice before retiring now and with the deepening mortgage crisis, many of our aging baby boomers may now probably have to rethink their retirement plans.  These two factors will probably cause many people to reformat their plans for their golden years and you will probably see some new trends taking place.  Many pre-retirees will probably start to become more nervous about having enough income to retire on.  I think that the article that I have chosen below will give you a better picture.

With more and more emphasis being placed on increasing food shortages around the world, there is a growing cry for chefs to come up with ways to create meals that are economic, nutritious, and healthy.  So, wouldn't be this be the ideal time for a new type of chef to make an entrance on to the cooking scene?
I'm Donna J Jodhan wishing you a terrific day and week ahead.
